This thoroughly updated and reorganised second edition of “Evolutionary Biology” covers the genetic, developmental, and ecological mechanisms of evolutionary change, the major features of evolutionary history as revealed by phylogenetic and paleontological studies, and material on adaptation, molecular evolution, coevolution, and human evolution.
Overall, ‘Evolution’ is a good, up to date text on the subject. However, it is much shorter and is exclusively directed toward an undergraduate audience. Writing the book must have been a major undertaking and Futuyma is to be commended on producing such a fascinating and comprehensive book.

Better yet, the students will have in a single resource a primer on so many of the other tools they will need to perform and understand the research projects in which they find themselves occupied. Great composition of the material – unfolds from general into specific, u.futuyma basic to complex.

It is the required textbook for a class. This is a great overview of evolutionary biology.
Informative yet engaging duglas the reader. But for me there is nothing quite like flipping the pages of the volume itself, which appropriately comes out in a year full of Darwin-inspired anniversary celebrations.
